Moscow Zoo will switch to its summer operating hours starting from June 1st, as announced by its press service on May 31st. The zoo will be open from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM, with the last entry allowed at 9:00 PM. The Children's Zoo area will operate from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The main entrances to the zoo will be open from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM, while the additional entrances will be open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The summer season is considered the best time to visit the zoo, as many of the animals are more active during this time. Primates can be observed in their lively state, while birds can be seen nesting or caring for their young.
The pandas, including Katya, will be visible throughout the day, although they may rest more during warmer weather to conserve energy. Each animal species has its own schedule of activity and rest. Visitors may catch a glimpse of the manul cat named Timofey in the outdoor enclosure in the first half of the day. Capybaras and giant anteaters may also be spotted.
Moscow Zoo's switch to the summer schedule aims to provide visitors with extended hours to enjoy their visit and observe the diverse range of animals. It offers a unique opportunity to witness the natural behaviors and habits of these creatures.
