According to weather forecasters, hot weather will continue in the Moscow region until the end of the week, explained the deputy mayor. Today, for example, the maximum air temperature during the day can reach plus 28-30 degrees. Due to this, the number of people resting by the water increases significantly. The number of employees of the fire and rescue garrison, who have taken all recreation areas under special control, and are continuously patrolling the Moscow River and the internal water bodies to promptly prevent possible incidents, is also increasing.
More than 70 employees of the rescue service ensure the safety of people resting on the water every day. During hot weather, their number increases to 100 people, added Petr Biryukov. Moscow River, Stroginsky floodplain, Chisty Zaliv, Serebryany Bor, Khimki Reservoir, and city ponds are under constant control. Rescuers patrol the shoreline, conduct preventive conversations with vacationers, and find children left unattended by adults.
Currently, there are 25 search and rescue stations and one fire and rescue station operating in the city. They are located taking into account the features of water bodies and their popularity among people: 14 stations are located on the Moscow River, two on the Khimki Reservoir, and another 10 on the internal water bodies.
