Yaroslavl's orchestra joins the "Bridge of Arts: Russia-China" festival in Moscow, celebrating cultural ties.

The Yaroslavl Governor's Academic Symphony Orchestra, led by chief conductor Vasily Valitov, is set to perform at the closing concert of the Moscow International Festival "Bridge of Arts: Russia-China" on February 10. The event will take place in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, marking a significant moment in the cultural exchange between the two nations.

The festival, which previously held a concert at the Yaroslavl Philharmonic, underscores the strong cultural and humanitarian ties between Russia and China. According to Irina Shirshova, Minister of Culture of the Yaroslavl Region, such initiatives foster mutual understanding and strengthen the centuries-old partnership between the two countries. This aligns with President Vladimir Putin's directive to designate 2024-2025 as the "Year of Culture" between Russia and China, aimed at deepening bilateral relations.

Star-Studded Lineup

The festival boasts an impressive roster of performers, including internationally acclaimed musicians. Among them are Valentin Malinin, a recipient of numerous awards, and Maria Zaitseva, a laureate of various competitions and a scholar of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation. They will share the stage with Chinese virtuosos such as Zhang Kailin, Li Yixin, and Yu Guo, showcasing the rich musical traditions of both nations.

About the Festival

Organized by the Association of Laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition since 2014, the "Bridge of Arts" festival has become a platform for cultural diplomacy. Supported by the Moscow State Conservatory and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, the event highlights the power of music in bridging nations.

This performance by the Yaroslavl Symphony Orchestra not only celebrates artistic excellence but also reinforces the enduring bond between Russia and China through the universal language of music.
