The air temperature is expected to be around -2 to -4 degrees Celsius in Moscow and -1 to -6 degrees Celsius in the surrounding areas. The wind will be southeast, blowing at a speed of 2-7 m/s. The atmospheric pressure will be lower than normal at 735 mm Hg.
The cold spell started on Friday, and on Saturday, the nighttime temperatures will range from -4 to -9 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures ranging from -3 to -5 degrees Celsius. The weather forecast suggests that there will be plenty of snow, so expect snowdrifts. The snow cover will increase by 5-7 cm compared to January 2.
According to the Hydro-Meteorological Center of Russia, on January 4, it will be partly cloudy in Moscow with occasional snowfall. The roads might be icy, and the temperature will range from -2 to -4 degrees Celsius during the day and -5 to -7 degrees Celsius at night.
