The Third Moscow Fashion Week concluded on October 9th, featuring 83 runway shows in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege". The event presented collections from both Russian and international brands. One of the highlights of the fashion week was the inclusion of national motifs in many designers' collections.
Chinese brand KenSun incorporated traditional elements into modern styles, with garments featuring distinctive collars, jackets, and dresses with basques reminiscent of kimonos. Floral prints and appliques in the form of blossoming flowers added a unique touch.
Brazilian brand Maison Revolta combined cowboy denim with metallic elements, paying homage to Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman to travel to space.
Russian brands also drew inspiration from their cultural heritage. Designer Irina Vorobeva imagined the traditional Russian folk costume in a contemporary setting. The collection featured headbands adorned with kokoshniks and a color palette dominated by red. Slavic aesthetics were also evident in towel patterns, recognizable sarafans, and shirt-dresses that are now being paired with jeans.
Hatsibana from Nalchik showcased designs with traditional Kabardino-Balkarian motifs, while Dora Nikolaeva from Yakutsk presented a modern interpretation of the "vatinik", a traditional winter coat.
The Third Moscow Fashion Week attracted attention from fashion enthusiasts who were captivated by the diverse range of styles and the celebration of cultural heritage.
