From January to September, industrialists in the capital increased clothing production by 16.8% compared to the same period last year. The growth was made possible thanks to the support of the city.
The details were revealed by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry, Maxim Liksutov, and Minister of the Moscow City Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, Anatoly Garbuzov.
"By the end of the third quarter of 2024, clothing production in Moscow increased by nearly 17%, and shipments by 30.7%, which indicates a high interest in the products of Moscow enterprises. During this period, companies delivered products worth more than 69.4 billion rubles," said Maxim Liksutov.
The production of men's outerwear increased by a third, while women's outerwear increased by almost 13%. Swimsuit production increased by nearly 2.5 times and t-shirts by more than 20%.
In addition, during the specified period, Moscow companies produced over 910,000 sportswear sets, 100,000 women's shirts, and 426,000 units of textile clothing for children.
"Today, more than 340 light industry enterprises, 135 of which specialize in clothing production, operate in the capital. They have access to a wide range of support tools from the city," noted Anatoly Garbuzov. He specified that among the support measures are preferential loans, the designation of industrial complex and Technopolis Moscow SEZ resident statuses, and the lease of land plots for one ruble.
