The chief of the Department of Rosprirodnadzor's Environmental Oversight Division has been arrested in Moscow for accepting a bribe. The Zamoskvoretsky District Court in Moscow has ordered the detention of Alexey Karabash, the head of the state environmental oversight department of the interregional authority for Rosprirodnadzor in Moscow and the Kaluga region. He is accused of accepting a large bribe. "Karabash A.V. has been charged with committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code... The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow has ordered the detention of the accused Karabash A.V.," the court reported.
It is reported that Karabash has admitted guilt, has begun assisting the investigation, and has named the participants in the crime. Two other individuals are currently being prosecuted in connection with the case. They are accused of giving the bribe. According to the investigation, the crime was committed in April 2024.
The Meshchansky District Court in Moscow has arrested a Russian citizen in a treason case. Recently, Vladimir Lukin, the CEO of the "Development Corporation of Kursk Oblast," was arrested for two months on charges of embezzling 173 million rubles during the construction of fortification structures on the border. The official's request to avoid being held in pretrial detention was rejected.
