The deputy mayor of Moscow discusses the progress of the new sports cluster in the city center.

The deputy mayor of Moscow, Petr Biryukov, has provided an update on the development of a new sports cluster in the city center. According to Biryukov, significant changes in Gorky Park began in 2011, resulting in a modern park of global standards and a comfortable public space. However, over the years, many of the park's facilities have become outdated and in need of renovation, and the waterfront area lacks infrastructure.

This year, the renovations are taking place on Pushkinskaya Embankment, Olivkovy Beach, near Pioneer Pond, and the former stable site in Nesuchny Garden, not far from the "Leninsky Prospekt" metro station, said the deputy mayor.

One of the major improvements is the establishment of a new sports cluster in Nesuchny Garden. Pedestrian paths have already been constructed, and a year-round pavilion is under construction, which will house training halls with necessary equipment. In addition, there will be courts for tennis and other games.

In the lower part of the park, on Pushkinskaya Embankment, five pavilions are being installed. These pavilions will have 20 entrances and glass facades. They will accommodate souvenir shops, art galleries, family recreation areas, cafes, and restaurants. The exterior design of the pavilions will resemble a cruise liner.

A beach zone will be created near the Andreevsky Pedestrian Bridge. Furthermore, the park's lighting poles will be replaced with energy-efficient lamps, and new benches will be installed for visitors to rest. Additionally, 60 large trees will be planted in the fall and winter seasons.
