Famous bard and performer Vadim Mishchuk, known for his participation in the Grushinsky Festival, passed away at the age of 69.

The well-known bard and singer Vadim Mishchuk has passed away at the age of 69. Vadim, along with his late brother Valeriy, had been actively involved in the Grushinsky Festival for many years, as reported by the festival's website.

"Sad news indeed. Today, we lost our friend Vadim Mishchuk. We were eagerly waiting for Vadim to perform at the Winter Grushinsky Festival, but fate had other plans," stated the festival's announcement.

Vadim Mishchuk was born on July 5, 1956, in Riga. From the late 1970s, he and his brother performed together in the ensemble "Domino." In 1989, they relocated to the Russian capital, where they formed their duo. The group gained wide recognition with their compositions, including "The Sailing Ship," "Riga Station," and "Feast."

The musician battled with cancer in his final years.
