In Moscow, an employee of a major bank stole around 180 million rubles from a client's bank vault, according to Irina Volk, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is known that the criminal took the money from the bank vault in parts. The last portion of cash, 35 million rubles, was converted into cryptocurrency. When the robber's colleagues noticed the disappearance, they reported it to the police.
The identity of the thief has already been established. The perpetrator was apprehended by law enforcement officers at one of the capital's airports. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 158 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Theft on an especially large scale." The suspect has been remanded in custody.
An almost identical amount of money was recovered from the suspect.
